Beliebers: The Justin Bieber Fandom

    Justin Bieber is a famous Canadian singer whose music influenced and impacted many people's lives. In 2009, Justin Bieber began his fame and started releasing music. Justin Bieber was only 15 years old when he started his career. He grew very popular very fast. His music impacted younger females the most. They grew obsessed with him. Why are they so obsessed? Researchers say that favorite music stimulates the release of dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that includes pleasure and addiction. People loved the looks of Justin Bieber, but also every song he released. He was able to hook teenage girls in very easily.  

    Justin Bieber's fans are called "Beliebers". This came from believer and Bieber, one of his most famous albums in 2010. These fans became obsessed with not only Justin Bieber's music, but Justin Bieber himself. It all started from Justin Bieber's YouTube videos in 2009. The more popular he grew, the bigger his fandom became. The Beliebers strictly defend and support Justin Bieber, and they even may go to extreme lengths to protect him from anything that may hurt him or his career. This can go very far, even to the point of sending death threats to anyone that Justin Bieber dates or has interest in, or becoming aggressive with anyone that does not agree or like his music. The Beliebers want Bieber all to themselves.

    The Beliebers are not only random young fans, but they can also be well known celebrities as well. Usher, Selena Gomez, Florence Pugh, Ellen DeGeneres, and Kate Middleton were just some of the celebrities that were big fans of Justin Bieber. Usher helped Bieber launch his career, Selena Gomez dated Justin Bieber for many years, Florence Pugh uses the same pimple patches as Bieber, Elen DeGeneres brough Bieber on her show numerous times, and Kate Middleton apparently has a major crush on Bieber. These celebrities do things to honor him, be similar to him, and be in contact with him. Many, many people have "Bieber Fever". This is when you love Justin Bieber and are a very big fan of him. 

    The Justin Bieber fandom is very large and can get crazy. It is amazing what fans will do to support and show love to Justin Bieber. On Bieber's YouTube videos, fans viewed it over 2 billion times. Bieber was the first person to reach this number of views on a YouTube video ever before. Bieber developed a connection with his fans through Twitter and was answering questions from fans on a radio show. He loved and supported his fans, and he wanted to build connections and be involved with them. The fans absolutely adored this and would do anything to be in contact with him. 

    In addition, the Beliebers went to concerts, shows, watched him on YouTube, and there was even a movie that they would watch. They would have posters, albums, CDs, tee-shirts, and many more items with him on it. They would do anything to see him, be close to him, and even meet him. Some of the things his fans do is very out of the ordinary though. For example, one fan found out that Justin Bieber was in the same city as them, so the fan went outside and put the air in a jar. The fan labeled the jar as "possibly Justin's breath". One teen named Toby Sheldon got over 65,000 dollars of plastic surgery done to look identical to Justin Bieber. A final example is of this female teen that met Justin Bieber, and she cut off and saved the piece of hair he touched. Fans do incredibly crazy things for their idols.

    Bieber's fans were very special. He would surprise sick fans in the hospital to cheer them up. Ellen DeGeneres helped Bieber with meeting his fans by bringing super fans of Bieber on her show and having him walk out and surprise them. The fans would scream and burst into tears due to the amount of shock and excitement they were feeling. Some would run and hug him, and others would fall to the group and be frozen in shock.

    I used to be a very big fan of Justin Bieber when I was a child. I had posters all over my walls in my bedroom. I would constantly watch his YouTube videos, listen to his music, and watching the movie about him. I was not the only one. Many teenage girls were obsessed over Justin Bieber. There was such a strong appeal to his looks and his music. Bieber had over 292 million followers and fans. Justin Bieber was all over. He was on magazines, posters, television, realistic cut outs, and even big screens all over. He was extremely popular and had a very large fanbase. 

    Justin Bieber became famous at a young age and is extremely popular. His fanbase, on the other hand, is even more popular. The fans are frequently talked about on the news, social media platforms, and all over the internet. The Beliebers are an enormous group of fans that love and cherish Justin Bieber.
