Phillies Team |
Introduction
In the city of brotherly love, comes a baseball team called the Philadelphia Phillies. A team that has won eight NL pennants, two world series, and are the oldest continuously run, single- name, single- city franchise in American professional sports. An incomparable fan base that has the loyalty, devotion, and passion like no other. A fan base called, the Phillie Phanatic's.
Fans have always played a crucial role in the Phillie's story, from the team's founding in 1883 to the exhilaration of winning the World Series in 1980 and 2008. The team has played at several stadiums in the city beginning with Recreation Park, continuing at Baker bowl, Shibe Park, Veterans Stadium, and now Citizens Bank Park.

Observing the Game
At just about every Phillies home game located at Citizens bank park, Phillies fans set up tailgates. Fans arrive nearly 4 hours before the game even starts to set up and get a good spot in the parking lot. Here is a map that Phillies fans can look at too find good parking . https://www.mlb.com/phillies/ballpark/transportation/parking#map. The only negative about the tailgates is that the only source of a bathroom are porta potties lined up against the fence of the parking lot. Let me tell you from personal experience, expect to be waiting in line for a good 30 minutes and be sure to squat, its gross. Other than that, you will find people with TV's placed in the trucks of their cars, games including corn hole and kanjam, a pull- out table where they place all their favorite food, and loudspeakers where they play their favorite songs. If your'e a phillies fan, you will of course know and play the song " Dancing on my own" by Calcum Scott at least once while you are there. Here is a link to fans singing the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GAzHmtImWE . I went to a tailgate in November of 2022 as the Phillies were fighting for the world series win over the Astros. I remember getting out of the car in the packed parking lot and hearing the song on full blast. Fans all over jumping up and down, singing the song. It a crazy bond we have in Philly, every individual fan, feels like family to us. When persons say, " the people make the place", they are talking about the fans of Philadelphia. Although we may not have the nicest fields or the nicest location, the energy is always electric, and the people always make for an outstanding game no matter the score.

Accessories worn by fans of all ages, comes jerseys of their favorite players, hats, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and even face paint. There is a guy that has made a career by painting his face that is a major fan. Everyone knows this guy as " The philly sports guy" but out of character his name is Jamie Pagliei, a 50 -year -old man who might be the biggest Philadelphia sports fan you will ever see. https://www.facebook.com/thephillysportsguy/videos/back-home-today-with-full-paint-and-ready-to-beat-the-braves-beatthebraves-letsg/1041649083275344/. Break an Eardrum
Not only are we stylish fans but we are also loud to. The Philadelphia Phillies constant vocal symphony, composed with the heartbeat of Citizens Bank Park, pulses through. It all starts when the opposing teams announces their starters, and we boo each individual name they say as a fan base. Here is an example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbIzk1rmSEo. When we win, the stadium erupts in cheers, with each loud clap and roar adding to the euphoric crescendo. The players are energized, and the entire ballpark is electrified by the palpable force of the collective joy. But in times of hardship, the real test of a Phillies fan's devotion comes to light. The team maintains its vocal support even in the face of obstacles and setbacks. Rather, the fans use their combined voice to inspire the players by converting their frustration into encouragement. The atmosphere in the stands is one of passionate cheers, rhythmic chants, and unwavering loyalty, where fans actively participate in every high-stakes pitch and crucial at-bat.
Body Art
Philadelphia Phillies fans take their devotion to the next level by permanently inking their unwavering support into their skin, a distinctive and enduring expression of allegiance. Tattoos of the Phillies iconic logo, team colors, and memorable moments are marks of passion and support. These permanent displays of loyalty go far beyond mere fandom; they are personal testaments to the profound impact the team has on the lives of its supporters. Every inked symbol narrates a distinct story, telling personal tales with the larger story of Phillies baseball to create a living, breathing mural of love and support that proudly walks Philadelphia's streets.
Social Media
In the digital age, fans have utilized the power of social media to create a vibrant and extensive community that exists outside of the ballpark. Through the creation of mems and GIFS that capture the rollar-costar of a baseball team, as well as live tweeting every pitch, fans have turned social media into a virtual stadium where their voice is heard around the world. It crazy how fast TikTok, Twitter, Instragram, Snapchat has the ability to share information as fast as it does. The digital roar of Phillies fandom, marked by its immediacy, inventiveness, and unwavering loyalty, connects fans in real-time throughout the city and beyond.
