Bryn Mawr Orthodontics Lab

Have you ever wondered how your retainers are made? If so, this article is going to tell you all about it. Bryn Mawr Orthodontics Lab is located in Exton, PA and was established in 1980. This business is the place that makes the appliances for most orthodontics in Pennsylvania and Delaware. In total, this business has 30 accountants, 25 in Pennsylvania and 5 in Delaware. An accountant is just another word for an orthodontic company. The owner of the company is Sergei. He has owned the company for over 39 years. He has 6 staff members and each staff member has a different job.

At Bryn Mawr Ortho Lab they make several different kinds of appliances. For example, retainers, dentures, expanders, mouthguard, invisalign's and many more. There are many different types of jobs that each staff member works with. There is the accountant who takes care of the billing and mail. Acrylic is the where they make the retainers. They have different colors and patterns that the patients choose from. Wiring is the most hard job to do. You have to be very gentle when putting the wires on the retainers. They use this sticky wax to hold the wire to the retainer but if you accidentally hit the wire it can fall off before it is cured. Next up is the shaver. This job is for shaving down the molded teeth to put the retainer mold onto it.  Molding is mostly used for invisalign. You have the molded teeth that the orthodontics accountants give to them and you place a melted clear film onto it to shape the teeth. Lastly is the laser, they rarely use the laser but it is used for welding and they don't get many appliances that need welding done.

You are probably wondering "how do the orthodontics get the appliances if they are at different locations?" Well Bryn Mawr Orthodontics does delivery and mailing. They mostly do delivery because all the locations are near the business. But for the far ones they have to mail them. All of the staff members take turns delivery the appliances. Not one certain person does this job. The deliveries go out during the day but mostly at night. The whole delivery process is very stressful and organized. Each appliance has a slip with the doctors and patients name. You need to make sure you put the right appliance with the right slip. Sometimes they will accidentally put the wrong appliance with the wrong slip and it would be delivered and that can really mess up a lot and that would make them backed up. But this rarely happens because they have such a well organized staff. When they drop off the appliance to the orthodontics they pick up new slips too and it's just a repeat for every delivery. You drop off and pick up. When mailing appliances they have the slips of what to make, emailed to them. Out of all the jobs at this business the delivery one is the most important and most stressful.
