Introduction
Wardell Stephen Curry II was born March 14th, 1988 in Akron, Ohio. Curry began playing for the Golden State Warriors in 2009, he was selected as the seventh overall pick in the draft. Curry's fandom grew as his skills on the court became unique from any other players. Curry's fandom began at a young age as his father played in the NBA, Curry would come on the court with his brother Seth and they would play one on one, from then on Curry's fandom grew exponentially. Curry is know as one of the games best shooters and point guards of all time. The fandom of Steph Curry reaches a variety of people as you can see above, from young kids inspired by him to play the game, to grandmas and grandpas just in awe at his ability to shoot the basketball.
Pregame Routine
Curry has a very special skillset which allows him to dominate the league. Going along with being special, Curry has a pregame warmup routine that went viral from how crazy it is. After his pregame routine went viral people started recreating the videos on tik-tok, youtube, instagram. Curry begins by using two basketballs to warm up his handles, he also runs around the court and takes crazy weird shots to get ready to put on a shooting clinic. This is just one of the small things that the Curry fanbase does to show love for the superstar athlete.
Who are the Fans?
People who take part in this fandom are most definitely sports fans. Curry has gotten almost all, if not all of his fame from playing basketball. Lots of Curry fans aren't even Golden State Warriors fans, they just notice how special he is and it motivates them. I am a huge Curry fan, he revolutionized the game and watching him play basketball just makes me want to get out there and shoot some hoops. Curry changed the game to have teams and players taking much more three point shots than before he came into the game.
Shoes

Curry also has a partnership with Under Armour where he makes his own name shoes. He has multiple different shoes, Curry 11, Curry 4. I personally have a pair of Curry basketball shoes because they aren't too expensive, they are a nice style, comfortable and because I'm supporting a player that I really like. This is another big part of the Curry fanbase, Curry fans buy his clothing and equipment. Whether it be basketballs, sweatshirts, jerseys or shoes, Curry fans like to support the brand. Curry's merchandise is more of something that people wear to represent more than it is a collectible. Lots of kids around the country represent Curry by wearing his shoes in their youth basketball games.
Support
Of course since Curry is a professional athlete fans love to come to the games and support him, like I said before a lot of the fans aren't Golden State fans, they are Curry fans and just come to the games to see Curry. People pay hundreds of dollars to watch their idol or hero play the game of basketball. Like in the picture at the top, even elderly people are obsessed with Curry and come to watch him play.
Conclusion
Overall Steph Curry's fandom is a very popular fandom at least in the basketball world. He changed the game to the way it is played today and is gonna go down as one of the greatest shooters basketball has ever seen.
